Gonzo Film making, Interview discussion with Palden Jenkins, ‘humanitarian, writer, editor and webmaster’. Palden is a great source of wise counsel, with humanitarian work in Palestine, author of 6 books editing 50 more; creator of innovative projects and organisations; counsellor, adviser, historian and geopolitical expert. Fo me, a speaking lecture from Palden would enlighten so many who have questions with the world we live in. The Gonzo style film making, is really a fancy way of saying amateur. Picked up from the Gonzo style journalism of Hunter. S. Thompson who wrote in the moment, I felt the idea of flming off the cuff as so many do for ‘you tube’ these days is in very similar in style. With such basic equipment to capture and edit I did not wish for this to be an excuse not to film what I see as very important information for the times we are living.

I guess I should say something in beginning to release this because its been so long in the making. Its been delayed for all kinds of reasons, other projects have got in the way, expeditions have taken priority, its been shot, written, re-written, re-shot, sat on a shelf and well you get the idea. Rather than forming this into a dvd we have decided to throw it out there in sections on youtube for a number of reasons: – Firstly we feel it will benefit the sport as a whole and will encourage others to at least try our way of thinking without paying for the privilege. Secondly a lot of time has passed since we started making this, many have waited with baited breath, so it seems fairer this way. We realise some aspects have evolved further since the making of this, however on the whole, the principles remain the same. Finally as a group we have developed our thoughts & ideas in many different directions over the past few years. One of those directions has been in the film making area. We have started to work very closely with a film maker called ourmaninthefield (www.youtube.com/ourmaninthefield) which has led us it invest heavily in camera and film making equipment. Behind the scenes we have built a pool of broadcast quality camera equipment which has led us to view this footage as too low quality to show on home television sets. The upshot of this is that there are new projects coming soon in full quality HD! So here it is, STEALTH. To sum it up in brief its an overview …
