I want to learn how to direct films, but do not want to go to film school. Are there any good professional tutorials or DVDs out there I can learn from?

is the vixia hf r100 a good camera for this?
if not could you list some? my budget is about 700$ for camera-32gb sd card and mic

I’m am 15 and looking to start shooting private films and want to know what kind of camcorder would be best for the movies.I have actors for this but need a good camera for it! Any help would be appreciated!
(p.s. dont try to convince me making movies isn’t worth your time because enough people on here have already told me that and I am still going to be a movie director!)

I want to study Film Making, but the best ones (USC, NYU) are private and icant afford them. So can anybody tell me about any good colleges/unis offering film making degrees?

My research writing class requires me to pick a topic of “social importance” to write on for the entire year. What is a good issue of social importance regarding film making or films.

I’m really interested in making short films and I’m always inspired to make them but I don’t have suitable equipment. The only video camera I have is the kind for making home videos and I don’t have mics.
I’m only a teenager so I can’t afford to get all the top-notch equipment but I want to get a good camera, mics, and proper lighting.
Can any experienced/amateur filmmakers suggest any good filmmaking equipment?

I live in Great Neck and currently attend Stony Brook University. I want to take some film and film-making courses but Stony doesn’t have much to offer. Is there anything I can do at any colleges around the area? Even a Summer course would be something I’m interested in.

I am looking to get into some amateur / indie film making.

what are some decent cameras that wont break the bank? and what are some of the really good top of the line cameras so I know what to look for?
