I hate when people make this comparison.
Ed Wood seemed to love films and he had real passion to make good movies; just that his results never came out that great.
Uwe Boll, I think, doesn’t give a crap about films and gets cheap licenses to do video game adaptations or scripts nobody wants and makes profit through legal loopholes with taxes.
I want to learn how to direct films, but do not want to go to film school. Are there any good professional tutorials or DVDs out there I can learn from?
I’m not sure whether or not there’s a single school that offers both or if it’s possible to attend two different schools at a time, but if I could study Psychology, which I find fascinating anyway, and at the same time study Film-Making, I could make some pretty good films, I think.
I am an experienced photographer looking to get my foot in the film industry. I have limited resource so I would need a job when I get there but I will bring my equipments and hopefully get to meet the right people so I can start doing anything entertainment related (hopefully film) I will do any entertainment related job (except pornography) and will help anyone who has the passion for film-making. Do you think I will have the chance ?
I just need names of the top film schools/academies or uni’s that majors in film-making in LA. And if you add tips that’ll be great thanks
I have a few years of experience with film making, and have used a variety of cameras (including a Canon GL-2, Sony HD cameras etc). However, I no longer have access to these cameras. Any suggestions for a camera around or under 500$? I don’t know whether to look at mini-DV, digital, or if I should get a camera like a DSLR (I’m trying to get into photography as well). Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
I am thinking about going to the Art Institute of Cincinnati for a degree in digital film-making and video production. The first thing I noticed was the EXPENSIVE cost of tuition, and I couldn’t get much information about the alumni. I would appreciate advice from people that have gone to the Art Institute or have any information that could help me decide if going to the Art Institute would be worth my time and money, or are the Art Institutes a big scam.
I’m trying to find a theatre arts, 3D animation, or FIlm-making internship for a high school student in Philadelphia. Does anyone know where they could go?
I live in Great Neck and currently attend Stony Brook University. I want to take some film and film-making courses but Stony doesn’t have much to offer. Is there anything I can do at any colleges around the area? Even a Summer course would be something I’m interested in.
I am a 15-year-old sophomore in high school and I am looking to become a filmmaker. I live in Pennsylvania and wondered if there were any good schools for film-making in PA. Also what are some good summer courses in PA or southern NY? Anything would help me, because this is what I really want to do with my life. Thanks.
